Robert Mackay has been studying and collecting Asian and other applied arts for the last 30 years. He is particularly interested in cross-cultural exchange of goods and ideas throughout history, from their transmission along the ancient Silk Roads to the activities of the East India Company in more modern times. He is a graduate of Oxford University in History and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
