Chinese blanc-de-chine teapot and cover, Last Quarter 17th Century, in the form of a pomegranate with the handle and lid modelled as a branch and leaf. The foot is in the shape of a six-pointed star. Early in the 18th century this form was reproduced in soft-paste porcelain at the St Cloud factory near Paris. Height: 12 cm, condition: There is a visible luting line to the body and several small chips to the tips of the leafs that make up the lid.

Small Chinese blanc-de-chine censer, Last Quarter 17th Century, in the bronze form with with two lion mask handles. Whilst this porcelain from Dehua became one of the most collected ceramics in Europe, its origins were during the late Northern Song Dynasty. The Dehau kilns primarily made white wares for export - objects such as cosmetic boxes and figures - and were shipped from the port of Gungzhou. Production of Dehua wares continued far into the Qing dynasty with the Dutch East India Company exporting vast quantities to Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. Diameter: 7 cm,

Pair of small blanc-de-chine hawks, Last Quarter 17th Century, standing erect with their heads turned slightly to one side and with large eyes and curving beaks. The birds stand spreading their powerful tallons on a hollow rocky base with their plumage detailed by shallow moulding. The pure white porcelain is covered in an off-white glaze. Provenance: Clive D. Collins collection.
In 'The Wrestling Boys' Gordon Lang illustrates one of four comparable birds that seem to be identifiable with the "4 China faulcons" described in the 1688 inventory made at Burgley House. Height: 11 cm, condition: There is a small chip of approximately 1-2 mm to the base of each bird.

Chinese fine mark and period bowl, Kangxi (1662-1722), with deep rounded sides, decorated with on the exterior with scrolling hibiscus, qiukui, above a straight deep foot with lappet band. The interior with a central medallion containing a floral spray, six character mark and period of Kangxi. For a similar bowl see Percival David collection, for the Imperial Court, no. 39, p. 108, illustrated by Rosemary Scott. The inspiration for this pattern was taken from palace bowls made in the Chenghua (1465-87) reign. Diameter: 13 cm, condition: There is a restored hairline crack of approximately 4 cm in length extending downwards from the rim of the bowl. There is also a small firing fault of approximately 2 mm on the underside within the double ring and to the lefthand side.
