Chinese blue and white teabowl and saucer, Kangxi (1662-1722), of moulded form with piecrust rims, the saucer decorated with a central roundel containing a boy playing ball within a hatch-pattern band, surrounded by a garland of peony, the cavetto with lotus petal band and diamond-pattern design, the rim with four cartouches containing flowers and fruits between striped bands, the exterior of the cup with leafy peony garland, the interior with a central roundel containing a boy playing with a ball bordered by hatch-pattern and lotus petal bands, the interior rim with further cartouches containing flowers and fruits, both with precious beribboned babao to the underside of the rim and lingzhi mark to the base.
