Near pair of Chinese blue and white beaker vases, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated to the centre with quatrefoil cartouches containing two fan shaped panels enclosing a lady in a fenced garden near two towers within beribboned objects variously comprising the ‘hundred antiquities’, with a spray of flowering lotus to the lower body and peony to the upper body, within a flowerhead and ruyi patterned border to the rim and foot, ; For a similar example see, Jorg, Christiaan, ‘Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Rijksmuseum: The Ming and Qing Dynasties’, pl. 284, p. 257. This pattern is also found on other blue and white vessels of differing shape.

Condition:
Rims slightly ground, one with two hairlines to body.
