Canton enamel octagonal platter, late 18th century, decorated in the centre with peonies, chrysanthemums and insects including a butterfly and dragonfly enclosed by a narrow blue band with florets and scrolling foliage, the rim with four lobed cartouches containing flowers including prunus, peony and chrysanthemum, interspersed with four roundels containing a stylised wave pattern, all against a green diaper ground, the reverse painted with elaborate floral scrolls in blue to each of the four longer sides.
