Chinese famille verte plate, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in fine enamels with a pheasant crouching on rockwork amongst flowering peony, the reverse with a closed lozenge in underglaze cobalt blue. The closed lozenge represents a mirror, one of the eight precious treasures symbolising unbroken conjugal happiness.
Condition:
Piece out of rim with associated hairline, two further hairlines (one forked), two shallow chips and slight fritting
